GAP WEEKEND

OUR THREE-DAY HIKING AND MOUNTAIN PAINTING ADVENTURE IN AND AROUND FRANCONIA NOTCH STATE PARK, NEW HAMPSHIRE. THE WEEKEND INCLUDES ONE HALF AND TWO FULL DAYS OF PAINTING, CULMINATING ON SUNDAY WITH A FULL DAY OF PAINTING, A WORKSHOP AND DINNER ON THE RIVERFRONT IN BEAUTIFUL LITTLETON, NEW HAMPSHIRE.

GAP WEEKEND IS INCLUDED IN THESE PACKAGES: FULL RESIDENTIAL SYMPOSIUM (SOLO AND SHARED ROOM OPTIONS), AND FULL SYMPOSIUM BY DAY. ANYONE CAN SIGN UP FOR GAP WEEKEND ALONE, OR ALONG WITH OTHER SYMPOSIUM EVENTS.

Gap Weekend Starts Friday, July 15th 2022

12:30PM, FRANCONIA NOTCH STATE PARK, NH

PARTICIPANTS WHO ARE JUST JOINING US FOR GAP WEEKEND SHOULD MEET AT THE CANNON MOUNTAIN TRAM IN FRANCONIA NOTCH, BY 12:30PM ON FRIDAY, JULY 15TH. WE WILL TAKE THE TRAM UP THE MOUNTAIN PROMPTLY AT 1PM.

Gap Weekend Saturday, July 16th: Day 2

PAINTING AT LONESOME LAKE IN FRANCONIA NOTCH STATE PARK, NH

GAP WEEKEND ARTISTS GATHER FOR A FULL DAY OF PAINTING IN THE MOUNTAINS AT FRANCONIA NOTCH STATE PARK. LOCATION THIS MORNING WILL BE AT ELEVATION NEAR LONESOME LAKE, A SHORT 1.5 MILE HIKE UP THE MOUNTAIN FROM LAFAYETTE PLACE CAMPGROUND. THOSE PLANNING TO HIKE SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR A 1.5-2- MILE UPHILL HIKE THAT INCLUDES SOME LARGE STONES, UNEVEN GROUND, AND A FEW STEEP SECTIONS. THIS IS NOT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, BUT IT’S GOOD TO PREPARE. THOSE WHO WISH NOT TO PAINT AT LONESOME LAKE CAN PARTICIPATE THIS DAY BY PAINTING INDEPENDENTLY AT A DIFFERENT LOCATION, OR AT THE LAFAYETTE CAMPGROUND OR THE FLUME GORGE. SUNDAY WILL BE A FULL DAY OF PAINTING IN NEARBY LITTLETON, NH, AND IS VERY ACCESSIBLE TO ANYONE WITH OR WITHOUT MOBILITY CHALLENGES.

Sunday, July 17th: Full Day Workshop & Gap Weekend Finale

9AM, LITTLETON NEW HAMPSHIRE

ARTISTS RISE EARLY AND MAKE THEIR WAY THE SHORT DISTANCE TO LITTLETON, NEW HAMPSHIRE, FOR A DAY OF PAINTING ON THE RIVER BY THE COVERED FOOTBRIDGE STARTING AT 9AM. THE AFTERNOON WORKSHOP WILL BE FOLLOWED BY DINNER AND CELEBRATION AT A LOCAL BREWERY, RIGHT ON THE RIVER NEAR THE PAINTING SITE.

THOSE WHO WILL CONTINUE ON AS RESIDENTIAL ARTISTS FOR THE REST OF THE SYMPOSIUM MAKE THEIR WAY TO THE INN AT MOUNTAINVIEW FARM FOR LODGINGS THIS EVENING.
